MA - Normandy Farms Campground

It was time to winterize, so why not make a nice weekend out of it?  We've been meaning to try Normandy Farms one of these days, and seeing that they have an indoor pool and a nice big recreation lodge we decided it would be a good time to visit since the weather could bring just about anything.  It turned out to be a beautiful weekend!  Theo's friend Baden joined us again and the boys had a great time.  This place is definitely on their list to return next year...definitely on Kansas' list too - he loved the dog park!

We were in site #501, a pull through on the end of one of the big rows of a jillion pull through sites.  Certainly not the most private of sites we've stayed on, but they're not as on top of each other as some other RV-centered campgrounds we've been to.  Plus, being here in the off season gave us a lot more elbow room.

We definitely took advantage of the fun activities and amenities they offer: disc golf, bmx bike park, dog park, pool, arcade, playground...we really packed a lot into a short weekend!  We even took a trip to nearby Bass Pro Shop.

All in all, extremely nice facilities here, much like Disney's Fort Wilderness.  Not a State Park experience by any means, but that's what we love about having a mid size camper - we can do all sorts of different travel and camping destinations with it!

VT - Woodford State Park

Great late summer/early fall weekend in Vermont!  We stayed on site 66 at Woodford.

It is "waterfront" but doesn't truly have water access...not a real big deal, but after being spoiled with our own beach at Fish Creek I will have to admit that we were a little disappointed.  When we were here with the Aliner in the past on a smaller site (40) we had water access.  Oh well, not a big deal since we were pretty close to the campers beach and were able to leave our kayaks down there for the weekend...and this site was huge and really nice.

Here's the campers beach...and my little water boy fetching sticks and a frisbee:

More pics from the beach and lake:

Near the campers beach is a playfield and playscape:
We did some quintessential Vermonting:

And took a great hike in the Green Mountains on a stretch of the AT:

NY - Fish Creek Pond

Wow, we had a spectacular visit to the Adirondaks!  The weather couldn't have been nicer - upper 70's during the day and down to the 50's at night.  We were on site 217 at Fish Creek Pond, right on the water as most of the sites there are.

Gotta love when it takes more than one shot to show the whole campsite since it is so big!

Theo is now paddling the Oceak Kayak Scrambler XT by himself - he did a great job and did quite a bit of fishing from the kayak.

And Kansas did a great job kayaking too.

And kayaks do very well flipped over for balancing feats!

And after some fun filled days, we had some gorgeous evenings:

Does it get much better than this???

NY - Saugerties-Woodstock KOA

Another repeat from last year - the Warrior Dash in the Catskills in NY with our friends Kimberly and Tom!

We got a back-in site, which we're learning to get at the KOAs because they're a tad bigger and a tad more private than pull throughs...and we're both getting more confident with backing :)

Some pics from the race:

And back in Saugerties, we enjoyed dinner again at the Dutch Ale House, and some disc golf and geocaching at the campground.

NH - Chocorua Camping Village

We had a great time at CCV last year, so we decided to go again...and brought Theo's friend Baden along again.  According to the boys, this is going to be an annual trip :)  We stayed in site 88 this time and liked it a lot better than the pull through we were in last year...although we arrived much earlier in the day and had time and daylight and dry skies, so a back in site worked well this time.

Either the swimming area has gotten smaller or the boys have grown since last year...it seemed so much smaller to me!  But they had a blast again swimming in both the lake and the pool.

They also had a lot of fun meeting new friends and playing tag, hitting the camp store a billion times, and the game room as well.

We of course went up the street to Monkey Trunks to do the ropes and zipline course!

And this year we graduated to the Jungle Course: "No Wimps or Baby Chimps"

After some great climbing we had pizza dinner with the Egregg's and met Thia (both from dogandtrailer.com) at The Pizza Barn...way cool ambiance, good pepperoni pizza, and a juke box (which the boys had never seen before!)

And just a couple of random parting shots of the boys goofing around:
(in this one, they had looked so cute and cozy eating breakfast and sharing a blanket...but got way silly when I wanted to snap a pic)

(and of course I wanted a nice pic of them by the fire...yeah, good luck Mom!)
